no 9510 workin the 39F run to Shoregate from Downtown Cleveland. The bus itself is a 1995 Flexible Metro D Suburban, powered by a CNG fueled Detroit Diesel DDEC Series 50G. Transmission is a 4 speed speced Allison VR-731 ATEC. As of this posting, these buses are still operating currently out of the Hayden District Garage on mostly East side Park-N-Ride runs.

  • i bet u miss these buses alot

  • @coreyprkr2005 Hell yea i do. I grew up with these things. I watched all the buses RTA retired the last 10 years come about.

  • i remember them real well because brooklyn and woodhill had a few of them

the 4100's had more retrofits then any other coaches in RTA's bus fleet, fixed windows replaced 1983-84,brown seat pads 1986-87,roof mounted a/c units

    1988,brown seat back panels 1988-89.

  • @805219 i remember see'in a few Slope Backed 4100s with the roof A/C units and rear tail light panels from the 8900s. I remember the first 4100 i rode on, 4126 on the 6 route and 4138 on the 32X. I was like a kid in a candy store, grinning as the bus took off from a stop with its 8V71 making power (and smoke). I remember well when they shifted into 3rd gear, the bus would lerch forward and the transmission would make that legendary Allison grunt.....then it was move out time for the bus.

Dude...hit me up on AOL at Flexible Metro D

Anyways, the ole 4100s and 4200s had the Detroit 8V71N, not the 8V92. I dont think the big 8V92 could fit in the back of a GMC RTS. Remember the few 4100s and 4200s wit the roof mounted A/C units?

  • i remember the 8200s and the 4100s real well. 8201-8218 brooklyn,8219-8239

    woodhill,8240-8258 hayden and 8259-8277 triskett. the 4100s,4100-4144 hayden, 4145-4178 triskett,4179-4224

    woodhill,and 4225-4257 brooklyn. coaches 4146 and 4158 were retrofited

with square back ac systems, and coach

    4114 had a retrofit from a 8v92 to an 6v92

    in 1984.

  • Also the 2100 nova series made a pit stop in salt lake city for the winter games

before making their debut on cleveland streets in march-april of 2001. (note a few of these coaches briefly ran on the 75x

north olmstead line before rta took over

    their service area.

  • the 6 never went to the west side. The 326 did before they broke up the numbers. It actually used to be the 3 on the east side and the 26 on the west.

  • when did the 6 ever go to the westside?

  • Cleveland may never get Gilligs. We do, however, have New Flyer DE60LFR BRTs rollin around.
