@EdT586 Carter was awesome despite the fact that he gets a bad rap for being the worst President ever but nothing could be further from the truth! People don't realize that the Oil companies deliberately manipulated gas prices in an effort with Republicans & Democrats to oust Carter out of office because he wouldn't play ball with big business & corrupt politicians & Ronald Regan made a back door deal with the Iranians to not let the hostages out until he was in office so he would look good.

@Conquistador2112 i respect president Carter. He`s hated by many republicans, but overall he`s well respected. He was a champion for peace, and he negotiated peace between Israel and Egypt. You`re right about congress screwing his agenda, and that`s why his presidency in many way failed. He had good intentions, and was a good man. I respect him for keeping his cool during the hostage crises. I would have bombed if i were him. He stayed cool, and manged to save their lives.

@Yellyist I agree with you except on Carter, Carter's perceived to have been a bad president but he was great, it was congress that tried to block every bit of good legislation that he tried to pass & they obstructed him because he wouldn't play ball with the good ole boy network. Reagan was a criminal & should have been incarcerated. I get sick of these Neo-Cons acting like Reagan was great, people old enough to have been politically aware at the time know he was the beginning of the downfall.

@ronaldbuffalo2 The hostages were released on January 20th 1981 a few minutes after Ronald Reagan was sworn in which was my point, that's the back door deal that Scoundrel made with them to make himself look good. It was conventional Republican wisdom at the time that the Iranians were scared of Ronald Reagan LOL!!! What a joke, I can't believe Reagan would put their lives in more jeopardy just for his ego trip or politics. Everyday the hostages were there they ran the risk of being killed.
