The thing is, you can't say that Gackt is better than John Lennon. Is Picasso a better artist than Michelangelo?

I love Gackt and John. They are different types of musicians, so it is difficult to compare the two.

Though, I do have to say: John (and The Beatles) opened the door for the kind of music Gackt does. Which is why Gackt was singing this in tribute. Gackt respects John and I'm sure he doesn't think he is anywhere near better than him.

Anyway, Gackt does an awesome rendition of Love.

I think that it's a matter of opinions. I personally like more Vincent Van Gogh, or Claude Monet, than Picasso or Michelangelo, and that's what we're saying.

What you said about The Beatles oppening the door for Gackt and that style might be truth, but we preffer Gackt over them, if you don't, or think like this, is ok, it's just like seeing the glass half empty, or half full, each head is a different world, and that's it.

I agree, many of Gackt's own ballads are on par with Love or are more beautiful than Love. But don't let this romantic side of Gackt fool you. Having seen his mind-blowing performances of Cube, Luna, Doomsday, Redemption, White Eyes, Uncontrol, Mizerable etc. I find Gackt to be more badass and musical genius than John Lennon. Or at least a more awesome performer and singer.

And I just don't think it's fair to either John or Gackt to compare them to eachother and fight over who is better. They are both AMAZING, fantastic musicians and I hold so much love, respect, and appreciation for them both; but John Lennon should be given credit where it's due, because he has obviously inspired many other artists, and not just Gackt!
