I'm not sure why the sound isn't working on this video, but I uploaded it anyway. It gives you an idea of how accessible Toronto is from downtown to the Eaton Center.

You'll notice I didn't have my guide dog with me here. She stayed at home with my guide/service dog in training and my boyfriend/camera guy was giving me directions. It seemed to work out well, but I wouldn't want to do it on a busy day with a lot of people around.

  • What part of T.O. are you in?

  • I use to live next to the Rogers Center but moved back to NL since this video was done.

  • I wish that the sidewalks here were like that. A good share of the time you have to take the street because the sidewalks are so choppy instead of smooth.

  • The sidewalks there were pretty good for the most part, but a lot of the streets have really bad cracked ones when you move away from the main streets. A couple of streets over from where I was the sidewalks are so bad you almost get seasick from the motions of going over them!

  • WOW! I wish ours where more like that. Nice video.

  • The sidewalks for the most part in that area are OK. I just moved from there a few weeks ago though. That's why it took so long to approve the comments.

  • How do you know where you are wheeling since you can't see anything?

  • it's the same everywhere! here pedestrians use to be an obstacle for me. They are too slow and walk spreading all over the side walks... but as soon as they feel my presence turn and allow me to keep on moving faster.

  • hi m8

  • It's what comes out of their butts sometimes that bothers me more than them staying in front of me!

A few weeks ago I got stuck behind an elderly couple for like 3 or 4 blocks. They were holding each other and blocking off the entire sidewalk and staggering back and forth so I couldn't pass. They also must have had trouble hearing.

I had to stay back enough so I couldn't smell anything!

  • I hate how people step right in front of me, it's like the assume you can't go as quick as them, and stand with their rude arse in our faces.
