make sure the turkey fryer is stainless steel do not us aluminum as it boils aluminum lets out by produces that are harmful and will spoil your shin

why use copper? any particular reason?

copper is easy to form, easy to solder using lead free solder, also has sanitary properties and traditionally has been used to make pot stills etc. I guess the other choice would be stainless but to hard to form by hand etc

Love the video.....but the first part seems like the most difficult to re-create, and you breezed over that in the first 10 seconds. Is the outside arc of your cut sheeting going to be the length of the inside circumference of the pot itself? I would worry that I would not cut the sheet the right size.

the outside arc is larger than the o.d. of the pot by 1/2" for the flange, then some extra to trim off due to iregularities.
