MARCH 23, 2009 -- U.S. Senator Jack Reed met with reporters at Save The Bay - Narragansett Bay today to discuss more than $70 million in federal aid to help clean up Narragansett Bay, reduce pollution, create green jobs and preserve the Ocean States coastal and marine resources. Sen. Reed was joined by Save The Bay Executive Director Jonathan Stone and Anthony B. Simeone, Executive
Director of the Rhode Island Clean Water Finance Agency The American Recovery and Reinvestment. Act of 2009 and the Fiscal Year 2009 Consolidated Appropriations Bill contain a number of important investments that will benefit Rhode Islands environment, help create green jobs, and preserve the Bay, including: clean water projects, renewable energy initiatives, sewer infrastructure upgrades, and marine education programs. Senator Reed is a member of the Appropriations Committee.
