The Beatles version reached no. 2 on Billboard in the U.S. in 1963, released by Vee-Jay Records based in Chicago. Vee-Jay was a black-owned record company like Motown. In the UK, Billy J. Kramer's version reached no. 2 on the British charts. The Beatles released it on their first album and as an EP in the UK. The Beatles also performed it for the BBC. There is a mono and stereo mix. This was Bob Dylan's favorite Beatles song.
