  • there's a guy who loves his friggin mom

  • @rocinante821 Hahahaha. Oh man. "I teach college writing!!" *trumpets and fireworks*. "and I heard 'fibbers' in this song". "Again, 'fibbers'!". Hahahaha!

Oh dear God I'm glad I'm not you as I would be so embarrassed of posting such a FAIL comment.

  • @fludnicky Rush does all sorts of crazy time signatures. but besides that, i agree completely. Tool is goddamn incredible.

  • "Nothing is as it Appears"...

  • @chaoss610 "High is the way, but all eyes are upon the ground." thats the actual part. These lyrics are really messed up. I have the official lyrics.

  • @rocinante821 If you are indeed a college writing teacher and have this much disrespect for possibly one of the greatest lyricist of all time by stating 12 years olds could write a better song than this? You my friend are a disgrace... The actual lyrics are "Ignorant siblings in the congregation" anyways. I have the album beside me...

  • @rocinante821

If you really teach college writing... then you have heard of a thing called "poetic license". Shakespeare did it!!! And this song is meant as a memorial to his mother, so he wrote it in a manner (lyrically) so that there would be no confusion. And by the way... Find a twelve years old that could write a song about society spinning out of their own control (Lateralus) and then have the state of mind to write the verses in a Fibonacci Sequence!!! Iambic Pentameter??? Shit!!!

  • "Fibbers in the congregation"? Really? I teach college writing and I would never accept such tripe from my students. Musically, Tool is inventive and admirable. Lyrically...well, let's just say, at least for this track, I know plenty of 12-year-olds who could surpass Maynard. I'm not hating, mind you; I love Tool. But this song (and much--though by no means all--of this album) makes me lose all respect for their intellectual capacities. Again, "fibbers in the congregation"!

  • fuckin awesome

  • 427: way they will only read about?
