Chapter 5
"Have you seen Betsy tonight? She is HAWT!" Jason's terrible alcoholic breath infiltrated Nick's nostrils. "Um yeah, whatever." Nick said as he squeezed through some more of his colleagues to reach Selena, who was sitting on a couch. Steve, the most popular guy in school, decided to throw an after grad bash and invited everybody, well all the graduates. "Here." He said as he passed a diet coke to Selena. "I can't hear a thing! Wanna go upstairs?" Selena asked, almost screaming. "What?" Nick asked perplexed. He could barely hear her; the music was way too loud. The cops would soon come pay them a visit. Selena used her index finger and pointed upwards. Nick understood right away. He grabbed her hand and they pushed through many drunk teens to finally attain the stairs, which were just as incredibly crowded. After awhile they finally reached their destination. A quiet room, an assumed guest room. Nick quickly shut the door, not letting any wandering drunks inside. Selena plopped onto the guest bed and sighed. "Much better," she said aloud. Nick set his coke down onto one of the nightstands and sat beside her. "I believe we are the only sober ones in the house." Nick flashed a quick smile. "Cheers to that!" Selena gulped down the rest of her drink and crushed the can. She then let out a really loud burp. "Whoa! Did you hear how loud that was? Definitely a new record." "I highly doubt that." Nick sipped some more of his coke and burst out an even louder one. Selena starred at him. "Now that's how it's done." He smiled, satisfied. "Pshh, ya! You just wait Jonas, I'll beat you one day." Selena said as she pushed him playfully. He pushed her back. Selena kicked him right off the bed. "Ow!" Nick grinned evilly towards her. "I'm going to get you for that!" He announced. "I'm so scared." Selena said sarcastically. Nick ran towards the bed and jumped on top of her. Selena was left prisoner of his grip. Nick then realized he had her pinned and it kinda looked bad. He quickly let go and sat on the bed. "Why the sudden release?" Selena said as she lay flat. "Um, what if someone walked in and saw us?" Nick gulped. "Nick! We're more then friends, so you're allowed to get on top of me whenever you want." Selena pressed. "Okay that sounded really wrong," she added giggling. "I'm so new at this. You're my first girlfriend ever." He lay back down on the bed, facing her, his elbow fixed under his head to support it. "You're my first boyfriend too." She whispered. "Just stop thinking with your head..." she ruffled his curls, "and think with your heart", her fingers departed from his hair, traced down his face and onto his chest, right where his heart actually was. He looked down at her hand, then back into her eyes. Nick slowly began to lean in, closing his eyes, and searched for her plump lips. Selena smiled and quickly attached her lips to his, finally closing the space between the two. Nick smiled through the kiss, and gave his all. Selena gave back with just as much passion. Out of breath, he separated his lips from hers and just looked at her. "Let's get out of here." Selena whispered, and then pecked his lips. She grabbed his hand and hauled him off the bed. They made their way back downstairs and finally out of the crazed house. They both held hands and walked back to Selena's. As soon as they walked through her front door, Selena yelled: "MOM! DAD! BACK HOME. NICK IS SLEEPING OVER." She pulled her shoes off and looked back at a surprised Nick. "I am?" He asked with a shy smile. "Sure. My bed is a queen." He too slipped off his converse and they both bolted upstairs. Selena called the bathroom first so Nick just stripped down to his boxers and placed her sheets all nice and fancy. He sat down on the bed and waited for his turn in the bathroom. Selena soon came out in her pyjamas and looked at Nick. "Too much?" He asked. "Ha ha, no. But nice boxers!" She laughed quite loud. Nick looked down. He had forgotten that he was wearing his Bugs Bunny boxers. "Oops." Nick walked to the bathroom and shut the door. Selena giggled some more and slipped into her very comfortable bed and sheets. A few minutes passed, a door opened and the lights flickered off. In about a millisecond, she felt Nick's warm presence beside her. "You need a night light?" She knew he was afraid of the dark. "Nah, I have you." Nick cuddled beside her. She turned around to face him and delicately placed her cold hands onto his chest. Nick, startled, grabbed her hands, "You're freezing!" "I know. You're so warm." She shuffled more towards him. Nick smiled in the dark. Selena nuzzled her face into his neck. He was perfectly happy. Little did he know that Selena fell asleep grinning as well.
