    That is the hood. It can be taken off or just left snapped on. Those two straps are used to attach it (with snaps) to the shoulder straps. Great for sun shade, or when baby falls asleep.

  • I just got my Beco Butterfly 2 today, and my baby isnt due until the 18th of march, so its a few weeks until we can try it for real:) After watching your videos I have a question though. At about 3 minutes 24 seconds you touch a part of the carrier that I wonder what is for. Its fastened to the headsupport piece and just hangs down flapping around with two straps on it that is not attached to anything. Can you please explain what that piece is supposed to be used for?
