Kern County Fire Department Helicopter 408 rescues a family and their dog from a house surrounded by flash floods that hit parts of Lake Isabella days after the start of the Piute Fire which has burned over 37,000 acres to date.

This is altruism at its best, rescuing this family after the flash floods at Lake Isabella. The question is, how many times will this be repeated in recently destabilized areas after the Ventana-Los Padres wilderness fires, including the one that swept through Tassajara, this year?
It would seem that extreme wether brings unanticipatible aftermath, short and long term.
