As a fan of methodology, logic and science, and a Christian, I was tired of gettin' being called a heathen by the Thumpers, and an dumbass by Community College half semester drop-outs. I realized that many, not all, (beware those that speak in absolutes) Atheists and Fundamentalist Christians Agree on the Bible. One hates and the other, well hates and believes basically the same version of the Bible. Hating Christianity because of the Falwell clan is like hating Democracy because of Bush. I'm not trying to convert my Atheist brethren, just giving you a more logical Christian take on the Bible. Please look at it from that perspective. Show some love and I'll drop the community college knock. Peas.

  • odds with the bible and major themes and teachings. This is definitely not a bad thing, this is good, but it undermines your argument because it doesn't represent the actual themes and teachings. The story of Adam and Eve for example, they're banished because Eve ate the apple of KNOWLEDGE. Throughout history, and throughout the teachings of the bible (not just the story of Adam and Eve), Christianity is and has been at odds with science and free inquiry. Perhaps you should read the bible.

  • unconditional backers were as well. Bush is a war criminal, and also broke the rules and disregarded the fundamental principals of democracy. He broke the law, gave himself more and more executive power, and ignored congress and the system in which our democracy is supposed to operate. The fundamentalists who believe in the bible are just obeying the actual rules in it, and believing it as a whole. So as a Christian who is a "fan of methodology, logic and science" you are, in principal, at

  • Also, hating Christianity because of the Falwell clan isn't at all like hating democracy because of Bush. People who dislike Christianity do so for many different reasons: as in some for a lot of things, and also some for very different aspects than others. The Falwell clan was far from the first to make many of the controversial claims, or hold those ideas. Atheists discuss many of the problems of all religions- not just christianity. Also, Bush is an evangelical Christian, and his most

  • In regards to the info written for this video, I don't think it's true that non religious people hate christianity itself. I think people hate it when others try to impose belief systems onto others, manipulate people, lie to them or oppose free inquiry and knowledge; one of the ways that these practices are manifested is in taking a more literal approach to the bible, and also taking it to the extreme as the literal word of God.

  • I think the bible makes God look immature and pathetic really. I mean if he was such a nice guy he'd be like "Oh, don't worship me that's embarrassing, no, no, just let me help you out.

Instead he's like worship me and no other. believe in me, believe in me! Dammit, I'll burn your ass forever! Believe in me motherfucker! AHHHHHH!

  • A big difference between the Bubble Theory and the All-powerful, omniscient God theory is that no one is insisting that we serve the Bubble with our lives, that Dawkins is receiving messages from the Bubble that everyone else must obey, or that we must kill people who believe in an alternate Bubble.

  • oh,and i believe in hell..but your opinion of it was interesting..thanks for sharing your beliefs with us :P

  • btw, what is the name of this song? personally i'm not sure i even believe in Adam and Eve (i think the creation story is just a simplified notion of God's creation) but each to their own =)

  • hey i'm Christian too (though don't agree with organised religion, i believe in free-thinking) and i liked this video. i have questioned certain parts of the Bible that fundies commonly accept as truth (i used to be a bit of a fundie, but changed) but i had never thought of the concept of original sin before..your thinking makes sense! (if you love something let it go..etc)

  • Everybody understands the philosophy of the bible. Original sin is not called original sin, but it is verrrrrrryyyyyyy strongly suggested. By the way, the first seven minutes had nothing to do with your topic, the last three had the opposite message; maybe you should have named it "another fundamentalist christian rant".
