GVP "Spread the Love" (Director's Cut)

"You're a part of this world, so you're a part of me." Audience favorite in the 2010 DigiFestival.net online video competition, Spread the Love is the debut video from GVP. GVP is the Gothenburg Video Project, a group of musician-teachers in Gothenburg, Sweden, in collaboration with director Bohagey Bowes and Nashville producer/recording artist Carey Ott. Spread the Love was recorded in RI and filmed in Gothenburg. With its swirling visuals, Spread the Love is a dance that revels in the refrain 'you're a part of this world, so you're a part of me...'

From the first arresting image, Bohagey Bowes, with characteristic visual acuity and inspired editing, captures the joyous simplicity of this gathering without being cloying. There are moments of great delicacy, of humor, of lovely awkwardness. Kids playing percussion, kids dancing, kids focusing intently on their ice cream, kids soaking in the sweet visual and aural stimulation; adults abandoning boundaries, living in the moment—all captured in a catchy song with bright images. Gorgeous.
