A 15-year-old girl is in a coma after a beating earlier this week outside a Florida middle school. The teen suspect was apparently angered by a text message. The victim's family is urging parents to talk to their teens about anger management. (March 19)

  • lol, you people sound BEYOND ridiculous. REGARDLESS, two WRONGS dont make a RIGHT. & no one can justify what he did just like no one can justify what she said, but that doesn't mean someones life should be taken for making a statment & thats what his aim was TO TAKE HER LIFE. its all sad, i feel bad for his parents and hers.

  • Also if she was so sweet then why didn't any kids try to save her? Could it be cause she was just as mean to her fellow students? Why would they gather and watch?

  • IMO Kayla Manson IS THE PERSON who borrowed the

    cell phone of her "best friend" (Josie Ratley); used

    the phone to send offensive texts to Wayne Treacy;

    & then (even after Wayne noted to Kayla & others

    that he planned to beat Josie, someone he never

    met, to death over the texts)-- Kayla Manson then

    pointed poor Josie out to Wayne at the girl's school

    Kayla Manson is a SOCIO-PATH; a drama queen;

    an attention-seeking liar; a co-attempted murderer

    -- & she likes to 'play innocent' about everything.

  • She didn't deserve this but a girl who talks bad about someone's dead sibling is hardly sweet. Just cause she is beautiful does not make her sweet more often then not pretty girls are anything but sweet and I believe she has shown that no matter what her mom says. Though she still shouldn't have had this happen to her. The boy was obviously very close to his brother and probably has mental issues. I think he should be put in a mental institution not prison.

    Also if she was so sweet then why di

  • Also, what the fuck is wrong with kids today...? I don't care if it was all her fault, males protect females in most species, not beat the fuck out of them. If this would have happened when i was that age or in school or even now that guy probably would have ended up getting his head bashed in by someone before he could even land one hit, or at least before he could land a second blow.

  • Ok so what it sounds like to me is that she didn't approve of her friend dating an older guy, he went psycho, and although i haven't read anything about what he said to her about her opinion I can only assume HE said some stuff to provoke her into getting angry enough to say something about his brother which just set him off more.

  • Parents, please teach your children to take ALL threats serious, even if they don't FEEL afraid. You never know the mental/emotional state of another person. Whatever you do, don't antagonize or taunt them. This girl didn't deserve what happened, but if she had taken the threats seriously and reported them to an adult, the whole thing may have been stopped before it got so far. Pride can be very deadly.

  • I don't understand... did this boy's mother not see any signs of trouble? Was she not sending him to therapy and making him take medication (he was previously diagnosed with ADHD and PTSD). If she wasn't following up on his emotional and mental health, she is guilty of neglect. Parents need to be aware of their children's mental and emotional health, too. She would take him to a doctor for a medical condition, so why not treat a mental condition?

  • Granted the way he responded to her text message was wrong. She opened the door for this boy to get angry at her. She should of minded her business. You're supposed to express your "condolences" to someone who loses a loved one. What about the text message she sent to him ?? That gets pushed under the rug. It's not acknowledged that what she did was wrong.
