Filmed on the footplate of Britain's brand new steam engine Tornado (no 60163) on a 60mph test run. Filmed at the Great Central Railway in Loughborough, Leicestershire. A double track heritage main line.

  • whats the speed limit on the mainline section?

  • 60mph for testing work under certain circumstances. 25mph for heritage traffic.

  • @BBVCorvettec62005 Because the loud one wasn't fitted at the time of this film.You can see if you look closely behind the right hand smoke deflector there is no 'bad ass' whistle.

  • I admire everybody involved with this engine, building any engine today is difficult to say the least, but a mainline engine...wow.. I work on the 4449 in Portland Oregon USA but, Tornado...I Might have to see that thing one day!
