Recipe: http://www.healthyveganrecipes.net/video/recipe-for-rice-milk

This recipe for rice milk is a lot easier and faster than you might think, and a lot cheaper and healthier than purchased rice milk. You can use this on cereal, in a creamy rice pudding, in a green smoothie, in soups or curries, in baking or any healthy vegan recipes calling for a vegan milk.

What do you think? Let me know below.

  • Hi! Do you think that I can cook the rice and then use a juicer to extract the rice-milk instead? Thanks for your video!

  • @adamal93 sure, as long as you don't mind the cleanup :)

  • This is great! But normally I buy rice milk that's fortified with calcium and other vitamins... could you do that with this?

  • @lesaventuresdedani I'd just find a high-quality multivitamin and take it with a meal :)

  • she made HORCHATA. LOL

  • @TheGuyWhoHatesInk the dull-gray balls that are more powdery are the unrefined :) vanilla pods are fantastic - a much richer flavor

  • @healthyvegan hmm... I got two types of unrefined cane sugar, a light brownish crystal one with and some which has little dull-gray balls of different sizes and is a bit like a powder. It tastes like caramel. Which one is the true unrefined sugar and which one is the best to use? Instead of vanilla extract, would it taste better with a vanilla pod or would it be just a waste of money?

  • @TheGuyWhoHatesInk try vanilla extract with a bit of unrefined cane sugar to soften the flavor. maple syrup's always nice too ;) I'm glad you like it! It also may just take getting used to - if you need to sweeten it now, you can try reducing the amount of sweetener over time

  • I tried the recipe and I am happy with the result, but I guess I either didn't use the right rice or I'm not used to healthy and fresh rice milk because I got a very, very intense rice flavor... What is the healthiest flavor which I can add to make it taste better? Great recipe btw, I'll use that instead of that store-bought thing with millions of chemicals with unrecognizable names in it :P

  • @healthyvegan thank you for your help :)
