@phonepkh Hes just making a simple correction, nothing implied.

In the video it says 2000 of them died. 110 of the 2,000 man crew survived, so 1,890 died actually.

@doubtinggeorge Bismark was average, even the French Richelieu class was superior in most aspects...Bismark being superior to anything afloat is a myth along with most of the youtube sites on German/nazi being perpetuated...by mostly right wing idiots such as kingtiger88 bent on glorifying psychopath nordic warriors or hitler admirer... Reader Digest? few lucky shots, stopped by canvas WW1 byplane met the bottom join tirpitz, eugen etc... Facts? see "combinedfleet baddest keepers" on google

@0ddba1l My dad's father worked in shipping insurance. Everyday he used to attend the secret HQ in order to obtain convey shipping lists. All the military personnel wore civilian clothing on route to the HQ, they then got changed into uniform on arrival. It is amazing that the existance of the HQ remained a secret not only throughout the war, but for many years afterwards. It reflects on the discretion & integrity of all those associated with the complex. The HQ control room appears in the film.

@0ddba1l Yes you are correct re the Gold Reserve. I have seen the steel doors on the pavement where they passed the gold down into the storage area. The operation was carried out in the early hours of the morning & the whole area was sealed off by the Police & army. The idea behind it was to enable the gold to be rapidly transported to the port & onto a Canadian bound ship in the event of invasion. Much of the bunker complex is still closed off to the public.

@brewers97 Bismarck would have brought along her equally potent sister, Tirpitz, plus the Scharnhorst, Gniesenhau, Prinz Eugen & a vast numbers of U-Boats. 6:1? I think not!
what genre of music is this?

We tend to forget Britain and France declared war on Germany, not vice-versa.
Domenic535 1 year ago
@Domenic535 and do you know WHY they did that?
and why they had to do that?
so what are you trying to say here....you are with the NAZIS?
and Britain and France should have NOT declared anything against the NAZIS?
Please!!!!!
