LIRR MU/Diesel race at Mineola 3/13/08

I had planned to not shoot this because I thought it was just another MU....then I saw the Diesel's headlight and had to hurry to turn the camera on.

In the morning from 7:25AM until 8:00AM, 12 trains went through New Hyde Park. A train every 3 minutes.

In the evening, from 4:30PM until 5:30PM, 19 trains went through New Hyde Park. A train every 3 minutes.

New Hyde Park is two stations from Mineola and has the same exact traffic.

Diesels sound nothing like the MUs. Try listening to other videos on youtube. The MUs have a more trumpet sounding horn while the diesels sound more "train"

that train would have torn that shitbox m7 to hell...lol that was a very fast pass 80mph doesnt seem to fast in car or at a distance but damn 100+ tons of steel flying down the tracks at 80..u better hope nothing gets in its path...if it hits a car it doesn't even slowdown untill u throw it into emergency
