Obama-Biden Health Care Discussion

In response to President-elect Obama's request thousands of health care discussions were held around the country between December 16 and 31, 2008. This is an edited video of one such discussion which highlights the participant's desire for fundamental change: We need a publicly financed single payer national health plan that provides care through our existing network of providers, an enhanced Medicare for All.

Main purpose of federal government involvement in medical care should be to reward the best performers and those who keep people healthy. A award system for "good care" would be the best federal intervention.

Health care costs are part of the problem we have with companies moving over seas, how can our workers compete in a world market race when other countries have a 100 yards head start.

Why do all the Republicans hate on Michael Moore, this guy has money I dont think he in it for the money I think he is in it to help people and do what is right. When you try to help people and do the right thing the rich and powerful come after you. Its time for the working class to stand up for what is right. Great discussion and nice collection of stakeholders. How DO you get rid of the middlemen/HMO-gatekeepers and disband the massive infrastructure? We lived in France for a year, had a great GP, had housecalls! and at one point my daughter had emergency surgery - it was SO straightforward and sensible. Having experienced their socialized system I became overtly outraged at our American "system". American health care is a massive scam.
