I've been receiving emails and messages asking questions about Home Ed, so I thought I would answer them...

Hi Jaye,
Thanks for doing this video. I am thinking about home schooling my 2 children aged 8 and 6.
Although i am intellegent in many ways, I am not confident that i know enough (academically) to teach my children at home.
is it difficult? are there books with guidelines and formulas i can follow?
if i decide to pull my children out of school how long does the process take?
thank you.

"PrincessFidelma" I agree completely. People are shocked that I'm at Uni and 'Shock! Horror!' getting good grades too.

I like the vid but don't think the comment about some home educators breaking the law is too smart. Even with the message box. I would delete this vid and do another because it makes HE'ers look bad. You speak very eloquently other than that though :-)

clarification on my own error: Laws that prevent children from being homeschooled should be illegal. Laws such as this are morally illegal. Sorry for any confusion. ;)

in addition...in the U.S. for example, considering that the history of compulsory schooling was
"imposed upon independent Americans literally at gun point—with children being wrenched away from their parents and force-marched off to the new schools"... we have to question the morality and ethics of these outdated laws. What is legal and what is illegal and why?

Well seeing that homeschooling remains illegal in countries such as Germany... there are still families who attempt to homeschool their children in spite of this ridiculous law in such countries.
So in essence...it is a true statement unfortunately. Perhaps laws such as this should be morally illegal.

hi, myself and my parents are interested in home educating me. But where do we start?

Hi,
I have emailed you privately, as it depends on your current situation and where you live...

Sorry, but did she say at around 0:35 that some Home Educators "break the law for their children"?? Not the best thing to say....!
Roxy222uk 3 years ago
Yes I did say that..!!! I have no idea why...!!!
The weird thing is, that i never noticed i had said it... It was only when Jemmo emailed me, that i played it back and heard what I had actually said... doh!!! (blush)
I've added an annotation to correct my slip up.. and will get someone else to listen before i post anymore...
Blessings

I was home educated, the bigotry I still sometimes receive is unbelieveable, which is shocking considering I actually went to university (shock horror, is that even possible??) and that I would have "left" school 11 years ago! Anyway, that aside, HOME EDUCATION WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER, it made me the marvellous unique goofy person that I am today! and I would recommend home education to everyone interested!
anyhoo...
excellent video!

My sons go to a small drama group, there are now 3 lots of Home educated children there... all of them have wonderful personalities. They are frequently complimented on their behaviour, confidence and personality traits... Its great they can be their unique selves, without feeling they have to try and 'fit the mould' and become a clone of their peers...
Home Ed is the best experience for me, as well as for the boys, we love having time together and would hate to waste any, in school.
