Oh, that explains why he' won two Oscars and considered a master film-maker by several critical and public associations. Thanks for clarifying :)

Tarantino wishes he could make a film period. He doesn't make films, he cobbles together other people's ideas & presents the audience with 3 hours of tedious, self indulgent fan videos with toe curlingly bad dialogue.

An overrated film. Yates is a workmanlike director, Mitchum & co give naturalistic but unexceptional performances & the script is dull. With little action to speak of, the film required either compelling characters, stylish direction or an involving plot...it has none of these. It plods. Give me Charley Varrick or Alfredo Garcia any day over this, Mitchum is a bore to watch & who cares what happens to a grass anyway? He got what was coming to him. Unattractive characters, tv movie like direction

wow voice over narration gave me the chills. How about any of you? LOL in all seriousness I luv this film. Just a pitty this is released along with Nickle Ride. Meanwhile Family Honor, Family Enforcer Director's cut & Gone With The Pope aren't. Neither is Crazy Joe officially & where's the official DVD release of The Brinks Job. With Sage dying & Red Code rumoring going out of business we may never get Family Honor, Gone With The Pope or Family Enforcer directors cut.

great movie I saw as a boy, in comparison the other gangster films (leaving aside Huston or Melville .... ) seem to be made by Sister Teresa of Calcutta
