  • So I have the Dual Rectifier and I'm hating the harsh fizzy distortion it has, even with a Maxon OD808. Will the mark better give me a smoother less fizzy distortion? I'm in a metalcore band that plays styles such as Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying.

  • You need to work ou your settings. First, Put the amp on tube and not silicon diodes in the back. Then, break out yoru manual and set all your knobs in the upper regions of the areas it tells you too...you'll get the tone you are looking for. Look at my mesa recto vids for the settings that will get you there.

  • All of the New Boogies sound like broken transitor radios compared to the Vintage

Marks. I have a Mark IIC "i" which is ultra rare and will never get the "+" mod.

It was a transitional version that when back for updates. No eq. Reverb.

The sound is alive and fast. It sustains and the lead walks the line close to of out of control it you want it to. The cleans are awesome but can use some more reverb. I don't believe "point to point hand wiring" makes no difference.

  • this dude needs to read the manual properly

that bass knob is way to high

  • Turn up the volume, Kill the delay/reverb, and let me hear the amp!!!

  • Which guitar is better the esp alexi 200 or the jackson js30rr fr?

  • Can this get a good vai like tone similar to your legacy?

  • Have you spent the budget for good mics and recording equipment on all that top class MESA gear? Can't really hear the difference between the tones. If you were playing live at a pub or something, I don't think I'd care whether your played with the Mark II, IV or V setting.

  • wish the audio quality could be better. great review but the camera's mic doesn't really tell what this amp sounds like. i really wanna play this thing, now, though. there's one like this at guitar center and now i have an idea of how these work.

  • Very Informative. Thanx

  • i own 1 of these , this video does not show what the mark v is capable of !
