@arfbarg The 40 series will be loud. Pretty much like not having a muffler. I think the sound in the cab will be like driving a race car. You might want to look into the 50 series. That is the next muffler I am going to get. It still sounds nice outside, but is not bad in the cab. I had one on my 97 and really liked it. The 80 series sounds good to. Really nice for a daily driver. LOUDER in not always better. Nice and deep is what sounds good.

man that sounds good. i got a 2011 hd 6.0 and was wanting to put a flowmaster super 44 single in dual out using 3''pipe with 4'' tips. do you think that will sound good? you had a 40 series flowmaster on your truck and you did not like it? was it too loud for you or did it just sound like crap. i want it loud but with a good tone. i want your tone you have but alittle louder. thanks

@greendeere06 at cruising speed it is not bad. When you get on it you can hear it pretty good, but I like that. The 80 series is a very good daily driver, street friendly muffler. I have tried the straight pipe thing and will never do it again. The 40 series is not much different than a straight pipe.
what kinda of gas mileage can i b expecting from a new style chevrolet 4x4 or ford 4x4?i hear so many different things i leaning towards a tacoma 4x4 but vids like this make me want a chevy or ford fulsize awesome sound

@gunmaster45 This is a 2500 with the 6.0. It is heavier than a 1500 too. I saw an average of about 10 mpg pretty much all city driving. I would think a 1500 would get 12 mpg or so city. I sold this truck and now have a duramax. I am working on videos. I am hoping to see around 16-17 mpg city. Haven't burned through my first tank yet so waiting for the results. Get yourself a Chevy and you will never look back.

When you say that the 40 series will sound like you don't have a muffler do you mean it will sound like crap with no tone to it? I want it to sound like yours but louder. Want the same deep tone but alittle louder that's all. I don't mind the incab noise. A muffler delete exhaust sounds like crap at high rpm's. I don't want that at all.

@arfbarg The 40 series does not do much for sound control. I had some on my 81 and it pretty much sounded like straight pipes. I was not happy with them. It had a slappy sound that I did not like. I am going with a 50 series next. The 50 series I had on my 97 sounded great. The only reason I went with the 80 series on my truck is I had it laying around. I know they are spendy and you can't return them after you hear what they sound like.
