@Jaan0 I grew up listening to Aretha Franklin on that "Soul 69" album...but actually Aretha covered Helen Humes version from the forties( and I'm not even sure if THAT one was the original) its just the oldest version I ever heard.

You are right! I located it the song in the Time-Life Blues CD Collection. She was in her

teens then. It is a soulful original
