  • Nice setup you've got there. Would make a great commuter vehicle. And a recharge is what, only a dime in electricity? Very cool. Did it add much weight, and do you notice that weight much after the battery runs down during a ride?

  • The battery and motor add about 20 kg to the bike. The weight is not to much to handle. I usually have a laptop as well.

a full charge is about 750 Wh. it cetainly does not cost much. I like to charge at my office. :)

  • I'm just wondering why you are peddling ALL the time. what's the use of an electric motor if that's the case?

  • I pedal for a few reasons.

    1. To reduce the work that the motor has to do for extra range. Usually I pedal and only use the motor for hills and to get up to speed.

    2. Exercise. I keep a cadence and increase use the motor in harder areas to reduce strain. In this video, demonstrating the motor was the plan, so I used it more often.

    3. Balance. I find that at high speeds that I am more stable if I am pedaling.
