funloverpeeps....ou are so right! Laura was awesome! And the Laura of the television program was FAR MORE interesting than the dull girl of the books. Thank God Michael Landon, a truly gifted and feeling man, had the sense and wisdom to follow the books LOOSELY. :-)

@ihave90days what do u mean? in the fifth season they meet the orphan albert in winoka, and later adopt him, but other than that they don't have a true, biological son..although albert is treated like he's their son.

@TheCourtney666 you're you, and laura's laura...all people act different when faced with different situations. back then, there were a lot of pressures toward having a son to carry on your name, so it was a different experience having a son over having a daughter (still same in much of the world today). so, all those pressues got to her and, having a bit of a selfish personality (although later she redeems herself by asking God to replace her with baby Charles), she was jealous of her brother.

@CherryFrog321 That's right.Poor baby took the name of his father and his mother's stepfather Frederick Holbrook.In the real life he died 9 months after his birth.His death was the first from a small curse of the Ingalls family.Laura's baby boy died also a few weeks after he was born and the same happened to Laura's baby grandson(son of Laura's daughter).

@aenjgeal Frederick was his middle name- his full name was Charles Frederick Ingalls, and in real life, he was called Freddy, I believe. On the show though it appears that he was just Charles.

You know, you people need to stop saying that Laura is a brat and that shes spoiled. For one thing, this is the show, and it is WAY different from the books and her actual life. The producers only made it seem this way to attract audience members to make more money and to make it seem more dramatic. Second, you are being too hard on her. Any child her age would have acted the same when a new baby was born. Why didnt she act that way when carrie was born you could ask? Because this is a son and

Pa has always wanted a son. Laura is not a brat, just a regular little girl. When she hurts Bandit, (Which by the way there never was a real Bandit) she was acting out of hate toward god for taking away jack. No, it definitely wasnt right at all, but we all do things we're not proud of, and this was one of those moments for her.
