In past years, the Y Dream Home has been a Built GreenTM House featuring high environmental standards. The 2010 Dream Home is taking green construction to the next level.

NET ZERO ENERGY USE
The Dream Home, has been designed to produce net zero energy use and reduce the homeowner's carbon footprint through the utilization of:
• Energy efficiency features such as an insulated
• concrete panel building envelope
• On-site renewable energy generation through a
• geothermal loop system, 36PV solar panels and
• a solar hot water heating system

Other green techniques used in the Dream Home construction include:
• Triple glazed windows with low-e coatings
• Raised heel truss design to allow for R60
• ceiling insulation
• R20 insulation under the basement slab
• Recycled rubber tiled roof
• Water storage tanks
• Home automation system
• Dryer closet
• Xeriscape landscaping
