Starting my 1960 Dodge D-600 that now has a 360 in it. Carb is messed up- I think the floats stuck because it ran all rich and kept flooding......guess that a carb rebuild is on the list now.......

  • your engine makes to much rpms.

for a cold engine its very bad.

the engine koms to quick up temperatur.

but i know a carburtor engine takes of by idle when its cold,

not more rpms than 2500rpms when cold, higher rpms can lead to blown headgasket.

im sorry for the bad englishe

  • @wesleyzweersbmw your engine makes to much rpms. NOPE for a cold engine its very bad. MAYBE..... the engine koms to quick up temperatur. WHAT???? but i know a carburtor engine takes of by idle when its cold, SOME DO - NOT THIS ONE- MANUAL CHOKE not more rpms than 2500rpms when cold, higher rpms can lead to blown headgasket. NOPE !!!! im sorry for the bad englishe ITS OK I UNDERSTAND JUST FINE
  • holy shit man reving the shit out of a cold carburated motor? have fun throwing a rod....

  • @TheDale1962 #1 - No rods thrown..... #2 - has good oil pressure and oil lubricates the rods..... #3 - What does being carburated have to do with anything ???? Fuel injection somehow less susceptible to throwing a rod ?????? Please explain.

  • @farmall1938 DUDE ON A CARBURATED ENGINE, the lifters are not being lubricated instantly and the fuel is not yet a vapor because the motor has not warmed up this can lead to,,, throwing a rod,,,,,, or blowing a head gasket or a collapsed lifter.

  • @TheDale1962 ....so the oiling system is diffefent on a fuelie ???? Hmmm.... news to me. Also- the carburetor atomizes the fuel. has nothing to do with temperature. there may be extra fuel due to a choke system and this could pool in the carb....leading to a richer mixture.....but that too, has nothing to do with the oiling system.....nor does it lead to a thrown rod OR collapsing lifters...... so keep talking because you are showing your intelligence, or lack thereof to us all

  • What 'pile of rust' are you refering to ? The body is mostly sound except for a few spots in the floor........ No rust in the doors or anywhere else for that matter.
