WAIKIKI BEACH, OAHU, BLUE (Robb & Bry, Hawaii #3/5)

This little video blog is ever-so-slightly PG-13. It features some outrigger canoe action with the family, shots of Sea Life Park (not really in Waikiki), the Honolulu Aquarium, the Beach Boys performing at the Waikiki Shell, the Atlantis submarine and an artificial reef, more Diamond Head than you can shake a lens at, and shots of me and BryGuy mugging shamelessly. It also features Bart Bascone's song "Blue Hawaii Disco" which was popular in the islands when I grew up there in the late 1970's/early 80's -- this song is ridiculously rare and I was only able to find one copy...on 7-inch vinyl...in an online store in Virginia of all places.

Are the BB shots from the 1983(?) concert? If so, anyone have the exact date, please? I was there with my then-girlfriend-now-wife and we're trying to place the date. It was very magical; lots of good aloha energy!

Bart Bascone was great! He also had "Lucky Living in Hawaii," and "Aloha." I searched for years, and finally just paid someone to digitize the songs (I had them on vinyl).

Hope yours doesn't sound as scratchy as this one does! Do you remember that one of the radio stations had added an intro of girls chanting "Come with me, come with me, Come on let me lei you!"? Ha!

I was searching the web to find things to do in Hawaii for when I go in April and I came across this video! OMG - first let me just say that I love that song and I never heard it before. Second, kudos to whoever made the video. I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was awesome! Now I have to find out how to make my own little video when I come back with my pictures! Great job!
