However, he has done his fair share of traveling around Italy in about 40 years of his career.

@vampiroangelico I think that the real reason is that he doesn't love travelling and he likes Italy too much.

@magcham He could have been 10 times as famous and successful as he is, had he promoted his music in places like the US, UK, Canada, Germany, Australia and such, where there are many intelligent folks, and also many italians who live abroad.
His English is not very bad (unlike many italian singers who tried singing in English and sound godawful, like Elio and Zucchero)....
I am basing my comment on Renato's cover of the song "Land of the 1,000 dances", from the album "Via Tagliamento".

@vampiroangelico Yes, that's why Renato is not really known outside Italy, and why he intelligent as he is, has never done anything to alter the situation.
