Tok is one of our Sulcata Tortoises. He is 5 years old and we've had him since he was a hatchling.
He is very friendly and loves to eat his leafy greens and veggies!
He and his lady-friend Pie share a large enclosed yard area along with an entire porch which is just for them! They are great pets, but if you are interested in owning one yourself... make sure you do your research. Permits are needed, they will live a very long time and they get quite large, so you must have the space for them to flourish. They eat a LOT, so your budget will have to accommodate them. We have a garden to supplement store bought veggies and hay. They are healthy and happy and we love them very much!

  • You said they require permits?? Do know know which states require a permit?? I live in Ohio and want one. :) I tried looking on Ohio's fish & wildlife website but couldn't find any info. Thanks! :)

  • @Anabariful Permits may be required in some states, but I have no idea which states or if they are even legal in all states. Call your local Fish & Wildlife office and ask them directly so that you will get the correct information.

  • I have a sulcata tortoise 6 months old idk the kind of vegetable he should eat.

  • @Kojiereyes He should have lots of fresh dark leafy greens, like romaine, green leaf, red leaf. Never iceberg.

They also love squash, zucchini, green peppers, green beans, carrots. Fruit for a treat like strawberries or apples (NO SEEDS!!). They eat a lot! Planting a garden can help too. Make sure he has proper lighting, sunlight, temperatures and lots of space.

  • this is hank. can they eat bananna's ???

  • Yes, occasionally they can and ours love them!
