  • Hi! Yes Charlie was destined for meat. We are not anti slaughter but seeing good horses in homes wherever possible is of course best. The good news is that Charlie was rescued, then adopted into retirement into a wonderful home! I am sorry to tell you he has passed away since. But he died of natural causes in a home, knowing love and kindness through to the end. No fear. He was a dear soul. Never to be forgotten.

  • He's beautiful. Best of luck in finding him a home.

  • Thanks for the kind comment! Thank you... Charlie found a wonderful home, with one of our rescued donkeys, in Beautiful British Columbia... He's doing great!

  • Aww, wish I could have bought him! He's adorable!!!

  • Isn't he a teddy! Thanks for your comments!

  • wow that was a big rescue

  • This... is the most hilarious comment! Haha! Cheers!

  • @bogoid alot of horse meat was sold to zoos too=] I could never eat a horse.

  • Did she say "bidding against the meat buyers"??? That's so sad :( So happy you rescued him!! I hope he's still doing well these years later!!

  • @horsesaremylife31899 Not according to every horse book and site I've ever read. Greys are much more common but some are black. And as an extra titbit you do get the occasional rare black lippizan too.

  • He is a beautiful percheron, you done a wonderful thing.

  • Absolutely stunning!

  • a black percheron that is not purebred unless it is still young bcause they are like lippizans they change color sit should be dapple

  • Wow i just want to say thank you! Rescuing these magnificent animals is wonderful! selling our horses for meat is so wrong. if they allow this wat next? will they be selling Fido at the auction? Thank you for all you do for these animals

  • he is amazing a horse like that (or any other horse) should never go to the meat buyers! what type of owner would even think about auctining a horse like that!
