  • In Indian instrumental classical music is a tusscle between Gayaki and Tantrakari styles. Gayaki anga restrict the performers frm gimmickery and maintain the sanctity of Bandish/raga. Tantrakars are spoiling classical music by such commerciality, and it is easily acceptable by the ppl and the govt today. What happened to the our aesthetics now a days ?

  • @MrDjthakur Classic apples and oranges comparison. Western classical music was written in the classical period hence the name "classical music". but our music on the other hand is described very loosely by the Shastras. its always open to improvisation. there are no fixed set of compositions. here, hariji and Zakir sahab on purpose missing a cycle alternately, this in no way, goes against the basic principles of sur taal and raga that are the heart and soul of OUR music.

  • Mr.Djthakur sorry to say Jugal Bandi is one form of classical .May Vilyat Kha Ji,have said some thing . But,still Late Bhimsen Joshi ji had perform Jugal Bandi and Jasrangi another form of Jugal Bandi is very famous now days

  • Good one. R DVD's available in Market

  • @MrDjthakur k...frst of all i would like to apologise fr my harsh nature...

i accept that this wasnt taught ....but it is done fr the entertainment , please do not compare western music to hindustaani classical music as it is totally different......even im a fan of real good rock bands like green day , iron maiden, etc and i also hear to bethovens music too......

  • @parimusiclife I have listened to the Indian classical music for the last 50 years and myself been a classical musician. This sawal -jawab muck is neither taught academically nor our great ustads have ever approved it. ILet Indian classical music remain spiritual (at the climax of a recital), sawl-jawab at the fag-end of a recital is unspiritual. Nobody can realize BRAHMA or God after sawal-jawab display. Great sitarist . Vilayat khan never did sawl -jawab and in fact used to criticise it

  • @MrDjthakur go eat western mud!.......this is not a commercial jugglery....its in history of hindustani classical music.....

  • P.S. This type of superficial jugglery was invented the days of hippies in USA by the Indian classical musicians. Hippies did'nt know much about Indian music in those days. Ask a serious connoisseur of Indian classical music whether he permits this "jokerai or meerasipan"within the ambit of raga ?

  • Sawal-jawab in INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC ? How come ? Which Ustad says ? which Shashtra says ? No, this is jugglery of commercial importance invented ( to lure and befool westernes ) by some Indian instrumentalists .....It is a trick to sell bogus stuff in the name of Raga Vidya. Look at the Western classical scene......Westerners have never allowed such cheap jugglery to pollute their claasical music, .Bach is still Bach, Beethovan is still Beethovan., classicality is intact. When we will learn ?
