I met John Belushi, Dan Akroid, John Candy, Frank Mcrae, and plenty of other celebritys on the set of the Movie "1941" when I was 17 years old.
I have isolated these scenes for myself and to share with friends and family. I met steven spielberg after I twisted my ankle on the set and he had to yell cut and send me to first aid.

  • Dude -

I was 19 and did many of the same scenes you did; two and a half weeks of work!

I woke up with long hair and the beginnings of a beard when I got to the set for the buzz cut right off the bus. So many, many stories too: being used as an example by Spielberg, holding the umbrella for Treat Williams when it rained, etc. - and better! My big Belushi moment (not a particularly good one) came in another movie, Old Boyfriends...

Thanx for sharing this, my '41 brother!

  • @Voicedude This was the whole point of posting this, in hopes of meeting other people who had the same experience as you and myself! Find my other post on Youtube called: "Meeting John Belushi"

    Peace!

  • this movie is like a fine wine. as it ages, it only gets better!!!

  • I guess people take this film too much seriously. It was pure spoof on War and it worked. I love this movie very much. Steven Spielberg still never disappoints me. Also it was nice to see young Nancy Allen (Philadelphia Experiment, RoboCop trilogy). She was awesome. The same with other actors - Dan Aykroyd, Ned Beatty, Tim Matheson, John Belushi, Lorraine Gary, Treat Williams, Toshiro Mifune, Wendie Jo Sperber.......

  • Were u an extra navy man or army man in the movie?

  • Good insight.

  • That movie set looked wild and out of control. I guess that is what Spielberg wanted on the set. Yet, he was able to stop the action to help an injured extra.

  • HOLLEWOO!

  • So lucky to be a part of such an iconic movie! Cheers1

  • Crazy underrated. I only got to hang an original theatre poster on my bedroom & dorm walls; you helped make good art!

  • ahahah
