I split each year into 2 halves - Christmas and July 4. Every year, I eagerly wait for July 4 to come, my top favorite holiday, as, on that day, I get to shoot off fireworks. I enjoy doing this a lot and have been since I was 6 or so years old. This year was quite different from all others as both my sister was with me and I got considerably more night time stuff than day time stuff due to 2 reasons. First, the night time stuff is more exciting than the daytime stuff though shorter lasting for the price. Second, the place I go to to buy fireworks didn't have some of the stuff I like - smoke balls especially. Still, there was a way to get combos. One of which was that of shooting off 30 bottle rockets in a single batch with 26 or 27 preceeding that. Another involves sparklers, one of the least exciting of all light-emitting fireworks, but yes, even these can be chained, although it's apparently difficult to do. After these combos comes the night time stuff, several fountains, roman candles, then artillery shells (30, 18 from me and 12 from my sister), and finally my finale, of which wasn't a well-liked one, the least liked of all the finalies. With July 4 now over, I wait for Christmas, the next half. Once Christmas 2010 is over, it's back to waiting for July 4, in 2011.

  • Good job for not holding the roman candles! My cousin had one blow up in her hand, and she lost 3 fingers. After that, i will never hold a firework again, even sparklers. The only thing i will hold is those little snap things that you throw on the floor, and they pop.

  • Sparklers are fine as well for holding on to - just don't hold too far up the stick, but roman candles and firecrackers are not. Those you throw on the ground are also fine for holding.

  • @ulillillia you throw roman candles

  • I meant to say "put" instead of "throw". I was also referring to sparklers as well.

  • @ulillillia When do u buy your fireworks? Throughout the year or just before july 4th and christmas maybe?

  • I prefer to get them around July 1, give or take a day. This year, I got them on July 3 and they were out of stock on a few things - it's why I don't like getting them so late. I otherwise had no choice - my severe lack of transportation availability limits almost everything, fireworks included. As far as I'm aware, you can't buy fireworks around the Christmas/New Year area, at least in my area. They did around the 1999 to 2000 change (odd as the new milennium started on 2001).
