People in Iran send their first wishes to new U.S. President-elect Barak Obama.

Speaking on the streets of Tehran, individuals said they hoped the change of administration in Washington would bring about a new foreign policy towards Iran.

# (English) UNIVERSITY STUDENT, MASSOUD AHMADI SAYING: "To Mr. Obama I like to say that he should fulfil his promise to negotiate with Iran and resolve the problems."

# (English) UNIVERSITY STUDENT, HOSSEIN NAZARI SAYING: "My message to Obama, to Barack Obama is that, if you want your country actually if you want to have a good relationship with our country (Iran), with our politicians and with our government; you have to rapidly change your formal policies towards Iran."

# (English) UNIVERSITY STUDENT, MEHDI KADKHODAII SAYING: "I want to speak to Mr Obama. You said you need change, in the case of Iran, I want to advise you that first of all you must change your mind about Iran."

I wish we didn't have to take the lead on many problems in the world. But if others dont act we sometimes have to, especially when we are attacked.

In hindsight, invading Iraq was a mistake, even tho it got rid of a really bad guy. Even And Saddam even had his own generals convinced they had WMDs when they didn't! Thus the bad intel.

Regarding the Middle East: As long as there are muslims & Jews, the muslims will try to attack & kill or drive out the Jews.

USA doesn't care a shit about Iraq. From the beginning they attacked Iraq to get their oil but sooner understood that it would be impossible.

I don't believe a second on the soldiers that say that they WANT to help Iraq, why do they not want to help Kenya, Zimbabwe, Latvia, Iceland etc. etc. then? It's all bullshit talk that they have learned to say no matter their own opinion!

madcats3. You need to start watching different programs, then. Because the troops I see say they want to help Iraqis be free and determine the course of their own country. And that they dont want to stay there forever.

btw, do you know how many schools, water treatment plants, power plants, hospitals (etc) US troops & civilian contractors have helped start up & build in Iraq? Probably not. Especially not watching the kind of programs you said you watched.

i dont have anything against americans except the wars they fight. you know nothing about middle east and you have not right what so ever to say that iraq must quit killing of your troops. they have the right to do so because when i watch program with us soldiers in iraq they only say that they want to kill all iraqi ppl and that is a shitty country. its unbelievable they get standing ovation when they come home. american army is the worst in the world!

anice. I'm gonna defer to Brigitte Gabriel's opinion on the whole Lebanon/Hezbollah thing. And she says Hezbollah ruined Lebanon & killed thousands of innocents. So Hezb are evil, imo.

Bottom line: I'm pretty sure that both Hamas & Hezbollah --- or at least one of them, and there is very little difference between these 2 terrorist groups as I see them --- have either in their charter or have stated publicly that they want Israel to eventually be wiped out. So I side with Israel FOREVER.

Hezbollah's communications network was being threatened, and it is very crucial for defending Lebanon. The Government, who vowed to support Hezbollah in all aspects, had NO RIGHT to shutdown the network.

How did Hezbollah respond? They took over Beirut, and captured March 14 militia members, and gave their weapons to the Lebanese army, does that sound like a terrorist group?

They gained support after fighting the Israeli's and giving the Israeli's no reason to continue the occupation.
