This beautiful and haunting hymn was featured in "We Were Soldiers" and was played as President Reagan's casket was borne from National Cathedral

  • To truly honor these men Obama MUST be defeated in November 2012 otherwise their sacrifice would have gone for not.

    Obama HATES the military.

Obama LOATHES everything this country stands for.

    Obama is the ENEMY WITHIN!

  • @mariancolts I actually hope Obozo DOES get another term -- in Leavenworth. 25 to life sounds about right to me!

  • Prayers up for your brother and all his brothers-in-arms. May the be safe and home soon.

  • My father is pointing the bayonet affixed riffle, with the tank in the background. He is still alive, living with my mom in Oregon. He is eighty seven years old, and still marching. The photo was taken in the Philippines. Thanks for posting this. It means a lot to us all.

  • @owemylife Thank you for the kind words. And thank your father for his service.

  • One of the most beautiful anthems ever written. A blessing upon all of our military living and dead who have served the United States of America. Thank all of you.

  • Fuck all you dislikers. Fucking scumbags.

  • @mariancolts This is a beautiful, spiritual song - a wonderful reminder of what the ultimate sacrifice entails. I am deeply moved by the music and the words, and I thank you for making it available.

But the crass political comments only demean the deep, reverential sentiments contained within the song. The sacrifice of the true patriot is on a much higher plane than you'll ever find in the scruffy gutters of partisan bickering.

  • My Brother just left for Afghanistan today, before we left we told me to listen to this song and that he promises he'll stay safe, please pray for all soldiers to come home safely!!!! Support Our Troops they are the ones fighting to keep our freedom and do something for them to pay them back the fallen the hurt and the survivors we love you dearly!

  • SEMPER FIDELIS. GLORY AT HERO.

  • @owemylife Thank you to your father for serving with this country for our freedom.. He is my Hero.. My God bless your Family as well as everyone else who has fought..
