  • Dude which is better, super sculpey or Chavant NSP Medium clay?? i want a clay to make sculpures the tre models that sculptors do for the movies ( the prototypes based on the concept art) i also want to make stop motion puppets, what would you recomend me?

  • @srOLDSKULL They use all the clays you just described. If your making puppets you can use any of the clays for the sculpt. You have to figure out if you are making a hard mold or a soft mold, and what you are casting the puppet in silicone or foam latex. I would suggest starting with chavant NSP. It's the easiest and best solution. Soft or medium is probably the best choice to start with as well.

  • You've most likely answered this before. But the most readily available clay in my neck of the woods is Van Aken. Is this brand compatible with silicone molding agents? Thanks for your time. :)

  • @babyblueknowwho You can use Van Aken. But remember that it will be extremely soft and your Mold making process may crush the sculpture. Your better off ordering clay online.

  • Hi, can you tell me please wich kind of clay you use? or there is a way to delete the finger prints on it? is it possible to use cernit? (sorry for my english, thank you)

  • @xandreax123 The clay is Chavant. It's an oil based clay that you can get at your local art supplies store. You can smooth it with alcohol or baby oil.

  • Is that sculpey? What kind of clay are you using?

  • Torching is a good idea for smoothing, I use distilled rubbing alcohol , it works too.

  • @stopmotionmagazine Thanks. I thought that might the case. I think I might go with polymer clay for the original instead. Bake it first then, apply the silicone. Great channel BTW! :)

  • If your sculpture gets anymore smooth, it will be the reincarnation of Micheal Jackson! Nice work bro!
