@ScandalizeMyName omg,witout reading the comments here,i went n googled this same doubt n found out.den half n hour later i came back here n scrolled down,only to find it already being explained here in detail..hehehe.thanks for the info anyway.it was confusing wen she spoke of her age.wow....world is so different than wat we think...now i realise...but in my country(India) even though we have a saka calendar,it plays no role in our age or date or anything....we use gregorian calendar only : )

To those confused about Her Age: In Korea Newborns start at 1 year old, and each passing of a Lunar New Year, rather than the birthday, adds 1 year to the person's age. depending on the date, age can vary 1 or 2 years by western standards
Kim Hyun Joong, born June 6, 1986. 25 by our standards, 26 by Korean standards (ATM)
And after Lunar New Year, Jan 23, 2012, In Korea he would be considered 27 already.
Everyone is 1 at birth, and a year older after New Years, regardless of birthdate.
