Over the Rainbow Judy Garland Tribute

An acoustic version of the song Over the Rainbow. Arranged by (me) Matt Elson and (my father) John Elson on guiitar.

This video is also a tribute to the late Judy Garland who originally sang it. Many people have covered this track over the years Eva Cassidy, Barbra Streisand, Frank SInatra.
I dont think any of the artistes mentioned were attempting to top the original and this is definatley not my aim.

"Over the Rainbow" (often referred to as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow") is a classic Academy Award-winning ballad song with music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg. It was written for the movie The Wizard of Oz, and was sung by Judy Garland in the movie. Over time it would become Garland's signature song.

I hope you enjoy the video and this version of the song which include lyrics originally cut from the movie.

I dedicate this recording my late Grandmother Amy Elson. (Little Nan).

This is so beautiful. Very nicely done and a fitting tribute to a beautiful lady that the world lost way too early. Thank you for doing this video - and for sharing it with all of us. She's looking over that rainbow now smiling at this, I'm sure.
