My step-brother Greg was born when this tune was #1 on The billboard Pop Charts, which is ironic, for he doesn't engage in 'Jive Talkin'" I like this version better, by the way.

When the Bee Gees wrote this song, they didn't know what jive talking meant! What a great song! Thanks for posting.

it´s so stupid compare Jonas Bro. and Bee Gees. please don´t do that it´s ofensive.

@Eltamir and buy some rogaine for your chest if you are lacking in the chest hair dept.

Even three of the Monkees could play instruments (Micky learned the drums) so that puts them above the Jonas Brothers.
Not a fan of the Bee Gees disco era, but their early stuff certainly proved they were for real. And in retrospect, even Saturday Night Fever beats anything the Jonas Brothers or N'Sync ever recorded.

Happy Birthday Barry Gibbs. Love your music.
This is my favourite live version of Jive Talkin.' Barry's natural voice sounds sensational on this. For the life of me I don't know why this concert (from the Spirits Having Flown tour of 1979) hasn't been released on DVD. The Bee Gees at their peak.

In fact, it does still fly these days. The Gibb brothers were the most played songwriters in the world as recently as 2006, beating even Lennon / McCartney. Their catalogue is in the top 5 most lucrative in songwriting history.
