  • The little "oil" mishap is probably killed the turbo. Lack of oil for even 1 second is more than enough to kill the bearings and shag the compressor wheel. The pits in the var geometry vanes is probably because of gas cavitation.

    As for "egt killing turbos", Turbos are designed to operate red hot, if that isn't "extreme heat" I don't know what is...

  • dude i know the feeling of having a 6.0. was my worst pickup ever the 2003 was teh first diesel i bought and the last international ill buy even though its a euro company it ruined fords relationship with international. ULSF bullshit

  • its an oill delivery issue. it looks like the bearing in the turbo let go and the vgt pieces were coming in contact with the compressor wheel

  • More frequent oil changes will help.

  • i had no idea those VGT turbos had so many son of a bitches in them! must be a technical term im not aware of...hmm...
