  • The main function of the supraspinatus is stabilization of the glenohumeral joint. Shoulder stabilization exercises are a more effective way to rehab the supraspinatus as well as the other SITS muscles. Having said that most of the time RTC injuries are caused by mechanical issues elsewhere in the body. Trunk or hip immobility or scapular dysfunction are some of the main issues.

  • @SMARTERTeamTraining I agree with causing impingement on the supraspinatus tendon espicially once you hit 90 degrees. There are other ways to strengthening the RTC without doing empty cans. Plus, what function would an athlete get from doing an empty can? Its not like you pitch or throw with your thumb pointed down.

  • GOOD FOR MMA BJJ

  • Any chance for impingement when doing empty can? Parts of the P-Therapy world has reservations and others don't. Your thoughts?

  • Awesome exercises, but I'm probably going to get some weird looks at the gym doing those :P

  • great vid
