In this video, Benedicte Maurseth, Norway's 2007 Young Folk Musician of the Year, talks about the traditional music of Norway and what makes it unique. She uses hardanger fiddles made in the 17th and 18th centuries as well as modern instruments and disusses how the older instruments are different from the newer ones.

Thank you Irate, there is a beautiful complexity in this music as well as the sense of its antiquity.

Jeg er glad for at det er noen som fortsatt tar vare på den gode norske folkemusikken og viser den til resten av verden. Det er noe helt for seg selv.
