But is any family really "prepared" for even their 1st baby? One reason I am so much for natural family growth, is that I reject the shoddy Big Pharma contraceptive potions and poisons. I really don't think so many people should go against nature and "sabotage" the natural function of the human body in reproducing babies

It's not just families, but the whole world is growing and squeezing together. Rather than disparage human life, I say to ADAPT and embrace natural flow of life

  • And NO... I am not missing the point... I am not saying that FAMILIES are the cause to ALL world problems. I LOVE family. I believe that it is ordained by God, but there IS responsibility that comes with it...

  • I know of a few families... that have many kids(+6) and the parents weren't prepared for that many? Or I don't know, but I go over to help one family and the kids are not disciplined properly AND They don't get the attention that each child deserves. There is just a point when people should be able to KNOW their family's financial and emotional boundaries. A LOT of the responsibility of taking care of the younger ones falls on my friend who is the 2nd oldest...

How come our ancestors more easily supported their larger families? They had less for money and technology, and yet families were commonly large and "unplanned." Family size was commonly thought to be "uncontrollable," as there wasn't much for contraceptive options, plus "farmhands" were needed anyway.

These days we aren't taught how to budget and invest for the future. Too much consumption, not enough investment into children. Too busy. More money, more excuses.

  • To PButterLUV:

You still miss the point? Still you single out large families (although "some" large families), to blame for the world's ills?

The whole human race is a "large family." There's so many of us. God seems to like humans to be so abundant.

How many people are single, or have but only a child or 2, and can't hardly support themselves? How many people are easy prey for socialism, because they don't learn very well how to be more self-reliant or to defend freedom?

    Large families=Life

  • See how I didn't say ALL large families... I said THE FAMILIES that DO have a ton of kids and CANNOT support them. THAT is the problem.

  • To PButterLUV (continued):

What are "horrible conditions" really? How about a society that doesn't much value family or children? How about Marxist, socialist, anti-people power-hungry abusive governments? Or governments that would dare try to impose birth restrictions.

More pop is great, but more pop + more poverty, is not the ideal combination. Let people accumulate wealth as well, so that they can more readily ADAPT to their rising pop #s. But poor people are just as happy as us, I hear.

  • To PButterLUV:

One objection I run into way too much, to the idea of encouraging more large families worldwide, is this crazy idea that large families are somehow a special "burden" to the taxpayer, as if somehow parents who let their families grow big, are all irresponsible welfare queens or something

And yet, taxpayers are already burdened by endless undeserved subsidies for this or that, corporate welfare, jacked up energy costs in the name of "the environment." Why single out big families?

  • sure big families are awesome.... I have a pretty good sized one myself... but one of the problems is the families that have a ton of kids and cannot support them. How is that giving 'more people a chance to enjoy life' when they have to live in horrible conditions...

  • What is nonsense, is the bizzare trendy "new" idea, that we can't welcome our progeny to be born anymore.

Isn't it a lot easier and more natural and elegant, that as the number of birth canal paths from which babies can emerge, naturally rises around much of the world, to find or make room for lots more families, than to scheme to deceive and cheat people out of their God-given, wonderous children?

There can come to be more places with lots of people, and fewer places far from lots of people.
