Crossbow hunting is no different than hunting with a compound bow, with all the frills added to it. If your going to go past the stick and string and your instincts, and start adding cams, peepsights, triggers and scopes, then you just made it alot easier for yourself. I use a longbow but will use a crossbow this coming season. I suggest trying the whole realm of bowhunting and experience it all. It's all about the experience.

Ted, I got my predator last november 2010, it has scope mount issue like many. Insted of fighting Barnet again, I bought a Parker Concorde over E-bay for a little more than half the price of Bass Pro Shop. Predator has Issues that Barnet won't get back to me on... One is the cheek piece being to short the other is the string serving, and now the scope mounting. Also I did order a string from them a month almost ago and just now are they shipping it from what the lady told me on the phone today

@doughesson from a bow at 40 to 50 yards YES they can "jump the string". From a crossbow at the same distance the bolt is moving twice as fast, I am not saying they can't jump it, but it is far less likely.

The Sims Everlast String Leech disintergrates on my Excalibur Exomax when I shot it. Basspro shops has put two sets on and I was very displeased so I called Sims about the problem and they said they were aware of the problem, so I wonder why they are still selling them?
