@328DLCR The smaller hammers have the Option of being self activated when they Touch solid rock--all medium and large hammers like this one have a remote button or foot petal you activate only when you decide to Fire the hammer.. Dry Firing the hammer like he was doing -Helps make the already broken rock move within the excavation for clearing it --or leveling off. Not to worry my estimate for a new Bit for that size hammer is ONLY about 6-7 grand--Chump Change , as long as i do not haveBuy it
