Fireplace that won't burn your house down

You can light a minecart permanently on fire. It makes for a pleasant fireplace, without any danger of igniting nearby flammable blocks like wood or wool. This is how I made the burner in my Fried Egg video.

I know a much faster, and EASIER way!
Instead of normal wooden planks,
you can use wooden slabs on your house/fireplace!
The wooden slabs won't start burning, either! =D

another way is to make your house out of wooden slabs.
