2008, or 1965? Remember the magical shimmer of the aluminum Christmas tree and how the gently rotating color wheel transformed an otherwise stark mass of wood and metal into one of the finest holiday decorations the space age ever produced.

Welcome to my aluminum Christmas Wonderland! In celebration of the long overdue CD release of "Christmas Favorites" by The Hollyridge Strings, I decorated my aluminum tree with red metallic ornaments just like on the original LP cover from 1965. Please enjoy this pseudo-nostalgic, and slightly trippy, Christmas gift from me to you.

I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Please purchase your own copy of "Christmas Favorites" by The Hollyridge Strings, and join me in celebrating this wonderful album of yore. Order it direct from Collectors' Choice Music (http://www.ccmusic.com) or find it wherever you shop for music.

  • The orchestra playing in the background is none other than The Hollyridge Strings. Conducted by Stu Phillips. The Hollyridge Strings achieved notable fame in the 1960s for their easy listening renditions of Beatles songs. You can purchase the above song, along with 10 other holiday chestnuts, by picking up a copy of their 1965 album "Christmas Favorites," reissued on CD by Collectors' Choice Music. I hope this info helps!
