cripes, too damn much is made about this rivalry. The body or work exceeds most other first wave bands by double and the Kinks toured every freaking year for decades. Yet, so much is said about this sibling rivalry you'd hardly think they did anything if you weren't a Kinks fan. What crap. Ray is the most prolific songwriter in rock. There wasn't room for two Rays.

I've written to Dave about this (you can go to his website and write him and buy some really cool stuff). Ray was the brains of the Kinks, but Dave was the balls, and that's just the way it was. GOD SAVE THE KINKS!
